One of the most problematic parts of the HE300 variable geometry turbocharger is that of the actuator that controls the sliding ring.  It is known to essentially "freeze up," turning your variable geometry turbo into a non-variable!  If yours has failed, replace it with the best, a genuine Holset unit.  Further, this is a NEW unit, so no need to return your old core actuator.
